Gokseong-gun Launches Mobile Hope Welfare Service
Visiting Remote Village Residents to Provide Various Welfare Services
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it officially launched this year's 'Visiting Hope Welfare Mobile Service' (hereinafter 'Mobile Service') starting from Yakcheon Village in Ip-myeon on March 17.
The Mobile Service is a representative welfare service operated by Gokseong-gun for 14 years since 2008.
The main content is to visit residents of remote villages who have difficulty moving or have poor accessibility and provide various welfare services.
It is a policy reflecting the regional characteristics of rural areas and the demographic characteristics of a super-aged society, establishing itself as an essential welfare service for local residents.
The welfare services provided by the Mobile Service change flexibly every year according to the welfare demands of the residents.
This year, self-support employment counseling and visiting massage services were newly added.
In total, there are 14 fields including agricultural machinery repair, oriental medicine treatment, western medicine treatment, electrical safety inspection, mobile laundry, mobile bathing, massage, knife sharpening, eyeglass repair, customized counseling, women's employment counseling, disinfection and pest control, self-support employment counseling, and housing fire safety inspection.
The service team plans to provide services by touring one location per week in 30 villages across 11 eup and myeon until November.
During the service provision process, thorough disinfection and pest control will be conducted inside and outside village halls by a professional disinfection team so that residents can use the services with peace of mind.
A county official said, "This year as well, we will actively resolve residents' inconveniences through the Mobile Service and strive to eliminate welfare blind spots. We will also continuously identify residents' welfare needs to keep providing better Mobile Services."
