[Report] "Family Reservations Keep Coming" AC Hotel by Marriott Seoul Gangnam Opens
Kids Lounge Set Up on Terrace with Swimming Pool
Targeting MZ Generation Parents
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] “It seems like many couples would come, but parents with children actually make more reservation inquiries.”
AC Hotel by Marriott Seoul Gangnam, which opened on the 22nd, targeted the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) who value family-oriented experiences. The Premier Pool Room with a private pool on the room terrace was suitably sized for families with children to swim and relax together. The swimming pool featured transparent glass, giving an open and spacious feel. Although water temperature adjustment is not possible inside the room, it can be controlled by contacting the front desk.
The terrace ceiling is equipped with a canopy that can be opened and closed with a remote control, allowing guests to enjoy swimming regardless of the weather. A hotel official stated, “We plan to introduce services such as room dining or breakfast served on trays that can be floated in the pool.” AC Hotel prepared a total of five rooms: one ‘Premier Pool Suite’ and four ‘Premier Pool Rooms.’ On the opening day, all Premier Pool Room reservations were fully booked through April.
On the 3rd floor, a kids lounge called ‘Little Champion’ was established. At 3 p.m., when the opening ceremony began on the first day, two five-year-old boys were playing with clay in a space set up in one corner of the kids lounge. Following the teacher’s instructions, the children made models out of clay. Inside the kids lounge, more than ten types of play equipment were provided. Considering the physical characteristics of children under 120 cm in height, a gently sloping slide was installed, and climbing footholds were created so that after climbing the wall, children could ring a bell hanging from the ceiling. Above all, the ‘Hello Ball Room,’ where balloons were floated and drifted using a blower, received the best reactions from the children. Even children passing by the kids cafe stopped and couldn’t take their eyes off it for a long time.
Along with the indoor play experience space, AC Hotel collaborated with the early childhood education program ‘Kids Schole’ to provide a program where professional play instructors take care of children. This allows guardians to entrust their children with peace of mind and enjoy their own time. AC Hotel is the only hotel in the Gangnam area with a kids lounge. An AC Hotel official said, “This space is aimed at MZ generation parents who come for a family-oriented staycation.”
The rooftop was covered with artificial turf on the floor and enclosed with glass walls, creating a refreshing atmosphere. From the window seats, Namsan Tower was visible. This space can also accommodate small weddings of about 100 people.

Additionally, to help guests fully relax, AC Hotel provides lavender pouches next to the lobby from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. They are used by placing them under the pillow. Upon check-in, guests also receive jelly made from concentrated fruit extracts. The hotel also paid attention to artworks that harmonize with the space, with paintings scheduled to be changed every three months.
