Lotte World Tower '2022 Skyrun' Held: "Delivering a Message of Overcoming Through Challenge"
2022 Skyrun, Theme 'Hopeful Challenge, New Beginning'
500 Participants for Main Race and 2300 for Untact Run to Register from 1 PM on 23rd
All Entry Fees Donated to Bobath Children's Clinic Rehabilitation Program
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte World Tower announced on the 23rd that it will hold the vertical marathon event '2022 SKY RUN' on the 23rd of next month.
SKY RUN is a vertical marathon event held every spring since 2017 at Lotte World Tower, where participants climb the largest staircase in Korea consisting of 2,917 steps. This year, to ensure safe participation, on-site registration will be reduced and combined with an untact run format. To comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, wearing a mask is mandatory to participate.
Held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, this event is themed 'Hopeful Challenge, New Start' and is designed to deliver a message of overcoming COVID-19 through challenge to participants and to convey hope for walking to children undergoing rehabilitation treatment through donations from the participation fees.
Registration for the event will be available from 1 PM today through the official Lotte World Tower website. The event will accept 500 participants for the main race and 2,300 participants for the untact run on a first-come, first-served basis, with a participation fee of 30,000 KRW.
Participants will be provided in advance with a race kit including an official Dynafit T-shirt, bib number, and mask. Those who complete the main race on April 23 will receive a finisher medal along with a finisher kit containing Lotte Confectionery energy bars, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Gatorade, and a 4-hour Green Car rental voucher.
The untact SKY RUN will take place over eight days from April 16 to 23. During the event period, participants can run 5 km anywhere using GPS running apps that measure distance (such as Samsung Health, NRC, Strava, Garmin, etc.) and must visit the Lotte World Tower Arena Plaza on April 23 to verify completion.
All participation fees will be used for rehabilitation treatment programs for children experiencing walking difficulties who are being treated at Bobath Children's Clinic under the Lotte Medical Foundation.
