Credit Recovery Committee Delivers Essential Goods Worth 10 Million KRW to Uljin Wildfire Victims
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The Credit Recovery Committee delivered daily necessities to residents affected by wildfires in the East Coast region.
On the 22nd, the Credit Recovery Committee announced that, in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross Gyeongbuk Branch, it delivered daily necessities worth 10 million KRW to residents of Uljin, who suffered major wildfire damage in the East Coast area.
The daily necessities were prepared using the social contribution fund called the ‘Hope Ladder Fund,’ which was raised by voluntary participation of Credit Recovery Committee employees who contributed part of their salaries.
Additionally, since the 7th, the Credit Recovery Committee has been providing special debt relief measures such as up to one year of debt repayment deferral and up to 70% principal reduction for residents affected in the special disaster areas of Uljin in Gyeongbuk, and Samcheok, Gangneung, and Donghae in Gangwon. They also conducted on-site debt counseling for residents in Gangneung and Donghae. Going forward, they plan to actively provide debt and microfinance counseling to wildfire-affected residents, centered around the Daegu, Pohang, Gumi, and Andong Integrated Microfinance Support Centers.
