5000 Tickets Sold Out in Half a Day... Rising Excitement for Galleria Department Store Aurora Show
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Galleria Department Store announced on the 21st that the artificial aurora show, planned to bring comfort and hope to everyday life tired from COVID-19, is receiving great anticipation from customers. Online applications for on-site viewing were fully booked within half a day on the first day of registration, the 11th, showing high interest.
The artificial aurora show at Galleria Gwongyo, held for 10 days from the 25th of this month to the 3rd of next month, is the work "Borealis" by Swiss installation artist Dan Acher. Using high-spec laser beams and fog machines, it recreates the aurora seen in polar regions as an art piece displayed 8 meters high in the air.
Galleria has prepared a separate viewing area to allow a more immersive experience of the aurora show. During the online application starting on the 11th, all 5,000 tickets for the afternoon session were sold out, and many users accessed the site simultaneously to obtain the free admission tickets, temporarily causing the Galleria website server to crash.
Individuals can reserve up to 4 people including companions for this aurora show, which limits attendance to a maximum of 250 people from 7 PM to 9 PM during the event period.
In the special viewing area, besides watching the aurora, various entertainment options are provided for customers. A photo spot where visitors can take memorable pictures with the aurora as the background is set up, along with a photo kiosk where photos uploaded to social networking services (SNS) with the hashtag # can be instantly printed and provided free of charge.
Additionally, an aurora-themed gift event is held, where customers who purchase over 150,000 KRW at Galleria Gwongyo during the event period will receive a limited quantity of the Aurora Diamond Underlock set. Furthermore, until the 3rd, an aurora quiz and sharing event is conducted for online members via the Galleria app, with prizes awarded through a draw.
Meanwhile, Galleria’s official YouTube channel broadcasts the aurora show live, allowing online viewers to enjoy it as well.
