On the 22nd, LG Electronics announced that it supplied the two-tier drawer-type LG CLOi ServeBot to the Courtyard by Marriott Suwon Hotel located in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. The LG CLOi ServeBot autonomously moves between floors using the hotel's elevator and delivers ordered items to guest rooms.
LG Electronics developed the two-tier drawer model in addition to the existing three-tier drawer to sufficiently store bulky contents. The two-tier drawer-type LG CLOi ServeBot can store wine bottles upright and can hold up to 17kg.
When customers place orders for wine, food, towels, or other items through room service or the hotel front desk, the items are placed in the LG CLOi ServeBot’s drawers and the destination is entered. The robot then autonomously moves to the guest room. Upon arrival, the robot notifies the customer via the in-room phone, and the customer can open the drawer following the instructions on the robot’s screen to receive the items.
The LG CLOi ServeBot is the only service robot certified for elevator safety by the Korea Elevator Safety Agency, having passed performance evaluations for collision and fall prevention as well as obstacle avoidance during elevator use. Based on indoor autonomous driving and obstacle avoidance technology, it can sequentially deliver items even when multiple destinations are set. The drawers can carry items weighing up to 17kg, and to prevent theft or loss during delivery, the robot is equipped with a security lock. The top of the product features a 9.2-inch touch display, making destination setting easy.
LG Electronics provides an integrated control system and continuous maintenance services along with the LG CLOi ServeBot. Managers can remotely monitor the robot’s status and manage usage history and delivery schedules through the integrated robot control system.
LG Electronics is positioning robots as a key future business and offers customized solutions optimized for various spaces such as hotels, hospitals, and F&B (food and beverage). Following the supply of LG CLOi ServeBot to Take Hotel in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi-do at the end of last year, LG Electronics has been operating LG CLOi ServeBot and GuideBot simultaneously at Hanwha Resort Seorak Sorano in Sokcho, Gangwon-do since early this year.
