Hwasun-gun Promotes 'Low-Carbon Agriculture Activation Support Project'
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun is promoting the ‘2022 Low-Carbon Agriculture Activation (Bio-Tea) Support Project’ as part of a local government and Nonghyup cooperative project to reduce carbon usage, improve the agricultural environment, and enhance agricultural productivity and income.
According to the county on the 21st, Bio-Tea, a low-carbon soil environment improver, is an eco-friendly agricultural material with excellent effects such as maintaining and preserving soil fertility, improving crop growth conditions, increasing seedling biomass, and reducing damage from pests and diseases.
The project targets farmers (corporations) and producer organizations residing in the jurisdiction who own or lease farmland and cultivate horticultural or specialty crops, with priority support planned for agricultural management entities cultivating facility horticultural crops.
The standard unit price is 480,000 KRW for supplying 30 bags per 10 ares, and farmers only need to bear 30% of the cost.
Farmers wishing to apply must have agricultural qualifications such as agricultural management entity registration and apply at the relevant eup/myeon administrative welfare center by the 28th.
A county official said, “We will actively discover and foster projects that can help reduce carbon usage generated by farming activities and improve the agricultural production environment.”
