According to this agreement, Kumho Petrochemical plans to use waste plastic beverage containers such as yogurt produced by hy as raw materials for PCR (Post-Consumer Recycle) PS (polystyrene), a synthetic resin product. Not only plastic containers discarded by customers after use but also defective containers generated during the production stage will be collected, and after processes such as compression, crushing, washing, and drying, they will be reused as raw materials for Kumho Petrochemical's functional synthetic resin products.
The synthetic resin products produced through recycling waste plastics by Kumho Petrochemical are expected to be used in new lineup products such as air conditioners, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, and air purifiers of major domestic home appliance companies. Kumho Petrochemical recently completed product testing with its customer home appliance companies.
