Gyeonggi-do Unveils Digital Administration Blueprint... 122.5 Billion KRW Invested
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is introducing administrative services that automatically fill out civil complaint forms using artificial intelligence (AI) or digitally verify identity instead of physical ID cards.
On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has established the "5th Gyeonggi Province Informatization Basic Plan (2022-2026)" to digitally transform provincial administration.
This basic plan involves an investment of 122.5 billion KRW to implement three main strategies: ▲ Intelligent Administrative Innovation ▲ Innovation-led Growth ▲ Citizen-centered Digital Services, along with 10 strategic tasks and 39 implementation tasks.
The province will first establish a civil complaint prediction system that analyzes personal information such as the complainant's gender and age to proactively provide necessary administrative services and information tailored to individual circumstances.
It will also introduce a service that uses AI to automatically fill out the required forms for civil complaints through a conversational interface.
To collect, store, process, and utilize various data stored in individual administrative systems in one place, the province will build the "Gyeonggi Data Dam" and develop the "Digital Gyeonggi Wallet App," which allows identity verification without multiple physical ID cards.
The province will establish the "Gyeonggi Shared Economy Platform" to share and utilize citizens' idle goods or talents and will gradually integrate the CCTVs of integrated control centers established in 31 cities and counties for efficient management.
Additionally, it plans to create smart industrial complexes and innovative data centers to improve industrial process efficiency, and build experience-based tourism platforms based on the metaverse as well as non-face-to-face cultural and artistic exhibition viewing platforms.
To enhance digital accessibility for the elderly and disabled, the province will operate a Smart Senior IT Experience Zone and install barrier-free kiosks without obstacles in museums and other locations.
A smart green industrial complex monitoring service will also be established to prevent major accidents in advance.
For the implementation of these policies, the province is also considering converting the current department-level dedicated organizations into bureau-level units, tentatively called the Digital Convergence Bureau, in the long term.
