Daejeon Youth Training Village Ends Self-Quarantine Facility Operation and 'Reopens'
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon Youth Training Village is ending the operation of its COVID-19 self-quarantine facility and reopening.
According to Daejeon City on the 21st, the Training Village was operated as a self-quarantine facility for foreigners and inbound travelers from March 2020 to December last year. During this period, the Training Village served as a residence for 17,234 people and carried out tasks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
After ending the operation of the self-quarantine facility, the city proceeded with facility improvement work and completed preparations to reopen on the 6th of next month as a place for experiential activities for youth.
With a budget of 400 million KRW, a 300m zipline course with two lines, a descending sports facility, was completed, and a laser gun survival game facility was newly installed.
In line with the reopening, the Training Village plans to hold free experience events for the zipline and laser gun survival game targeting local youth-related facilities, organizations, and stakeholders exhausted from COVID-19.
Participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, 40 people per session, over 10 sessions, with use starting from the 6th of next month.
At the Training Village, 21 nationally certified youth training activity programs (9 for elementary, 8 for middle school, 4 for high school) are conducted by professional youth instructors.

Director Lee Kwang-min of the Training Village said, “We will work together with all staff so that youth can experience various programs at the Training Village, cultivate resilience, and grow up healthily.”
