‘Suddenly Collapsed’ Landslide on Roadside in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk... 1 Injured
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Around 12:43 PM on the 20th, a landslide occurred in Waeum-ri, Munmu Daewang-myeon, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk Province, causing approximately 20 tons of rocks and soil to spill onto the road.
Aside from a woman in her 70s who suffered bruises near the site due to the landslide, no other casualties were reported.
The fire authorities are conducting recovery operations by removing the rocks using heavy equipment, as the area below the collapsed rocks is frequently visited by elderly street vendors, raising concerns that someone might have been buried.
The whereabouts of about 30 people who were near the site before the landslide have all been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Gyeongju City plans to investigate the cause of the accident once the rocks spilled onto the road are cleared.
