To provide safe and healthy meals to hygiene-vulnerable groups such as students and children, a public-private joint inspection team composed of food safety-related public officials and consumer food hygiene monitors will be operated.
The inspection team will visit a total of 541 collective catering facilities in schools, kindergartens, and daycare centers to conduct a full survey of the facilities.
They will check ▲whether expired products are used or sold ▲hygiene management at each stage such as food and ingredient purchasing, storage, cooking, and serving ▲compliance with hygienic handling standards for food and other items and collective catering facility operators’ compliance ▲personal hygiene management of cooking workers including health checkups.
The city plans to also collect agricultural products from food sales companies supplying agricultural products to collective catering facilities in schools to test for hazardous items such as residual pesticides and heavy metals.
Promotion activities for food poisoning prevention guidelines and guidance on compliance with COVID-19 prevention measures such as hand washing and mask wearing will also be conducted.
