Gwangju Buk-gu, Operation of the 6th Women's Friendly Citizen Participation Group

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced on the 16th that it will operate the 6th Women's Friendly Citizen Participation Group, which will be the driving force behind the 'Vibrant and Women's Friendly Happy City Buk-gu.'
The citizen participation group has been active since 2013 and this year consists of a total of 45 members. The term is two years, and the group performs roles such as monthly on-site monitoring by division, capacity-building education, proposals for improving living environments, and promotion of women-friendly cities.
At the commissioning ceremony on the 17th, there will be an educational session on 'The Role and Activity Direction of the Citizen Participation Group' by Baek Hee-jung, co-representative of the Korea Gender-Responsive Budget Network, along with a time to pledge cooperation between the public and private sectors to create a women-friendly city.
Director Moon said, "As we have been designated as a stage 3 women-friendly city this year, we will strive to create a safe and happy city for women together with the citizen participation group."
Meanwhile, since being designated as a 'Women-Friendly City' by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2011, Buk-gu has been re-designated in 2016 and this year designated as a stage 3 women-friendly city, establishing itself as a representative women-friendly city nationwide.
