Na Kyung-won: "Elections Became Difficult Because of Lee Jun-seok"... Lee's Side Says "Don't Make Baseless Accusations"
Na Kyung-won "Elections Must Be Desperate to Win"
Kim Cheol-geun "Elections Are Won by Those Who Create the Playing Field"
[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former People Power Party lawmaker Na Kyung-won evaluated that "the election became difficult because of People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok," and on the 16th, Kim Cheol-geun, the party leader's political affairs office chief known as a close aide to Lee, said, "I hope people do not engage in 'eokka' (unjustified criticism)."
Kim wrote on his Facebook that day, "In elections, the one who sets the stage wins," expressing this view.
Sharing an article containing former lawmaker Na's remarks, he questioned, "Who was the person who attracted attention and led the campaign with new election methods such as AI Yoon Seok-yeol, Yoon Seok-yeol cars, 59-second shorts, and Facebook short pledges?"
He continued, "Since when did the conservative party faction receive so much support from people in their 20s and 30s?" and asked, "Are you unaware that the approval ratings among men and women in their 20s and 30s have significantly increased compared to the previous presidential election?"
Kim also targeted former lawmaker Na, saying, "Although it did not reach the target, you probably want to pick a fight over the historically highest approval ratings in Honam," and criticized, "Before the general election, you desperately held revival meetings in Gwanghwamun waving the Taegeukgi flag, so what was the result of the general election?"
Furthermore, he emphasized, "Isn't the generational coalition theory in the April 7 by-election and this presidential election what the Democratic Party fears the most?" and added, "I hope you do not blindly follow others and engage in unjustified criticism." 'Blindly following' means following others without a clear conviction.
Earlier, former lawmaker Na claimed that the election became difficult due to leader Lee's role during the 20th presidential election.
On the 14th, appearing on MBN's 'Pandora,' she responded to the host's question, "There are stories on both sides that 'we won thanks to Lee Jun-seok' and 'we almost lost because of Lee Jun-seok.' Which side do you think it was?" She raised an issue with Lee's remark near the end of the election that "the difference could be as much as 10 percentage points."
Na said, "'(Lee) said we would win by 8 to 10 percentage points,' so supporters might not have gone to the polls," adding, "Elections must be desperate to win. It is very important to get supporters to the polling stations as much as possible."
