Wellbiotech, SD Biosensor Self-Test Kits Sold at Emart24
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Wellbiotech, which distributes SD Biosensor's COVID-19 self-test kits, has expanded its convenience store network. Following GS25 and CU, it will supply diagnostic kits to all three major convenience stores in Korea, including Emart24.
Wellbiotech announced on the 14th that it will start supplying SD Biosensor diagnostic kits to Emart24. The product supplied to Emart24 is the ‘STANDARD i-Q COVID-19 Ag Home Test,’ which SD Biosensor received new item approval for from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety last month.
This is a newly introduced hybrid-type COVID-19 self-test kit from SD Biosensor. The testing process has been simplified. Unlike previous products, there is no need to drop 3-4 drops of the specimen mixture onto the device. You simply insert the test strip and the swab with the collected specimen into the test solution container and wait for the result.
It demonstrated excellent performance with a sensitivity of 94.94% and specificity of 100%. It can quickly detect COVID-19 virus infection, including variants such as Omicron and Delta, within 15 minutes.
