Soju is the pride of ‘Busan’... Daesun·C1 Soju win the Grand Prize at this year’s ‘Korea Liquor Awards’
Presidential Election → Sweeping Victory in Under 17°C Category, C1 → Winner in 17~21°C Category
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] ‘Daesun’ and ‘C1’ simultaneously won the Grand Prize at the 9th 2022 Korea Liquor Awards, the largest liquor competition in Korea.
‘Daesun’ set a great record by winning the award in the under 17-degree category for six consecutive years. ‘C1’ won the Grand Prize for the second time in the 17-degree to under 21-degree category since 2016.
Held annually since 2014, the ‘Korea Liquor Awards’ is an event where over 70 professional liquor tasters rigorously judge and award the best liquors by category, including soju, beer, whiskey, spirits, traditional Korean liquors, wine, and sake.
Daesun Brewery explained, “It was recognized for being fully renewed as a 0% fructose low-calorie soju, maintaining the dignified and deep taste of the existing Daesun soju with a fresh and clean flavor.”
Daesun soju, which underwent a full renewal last January, contains no added fructose, salt, or amino acids, boasting lower calories than previous products.
It has received a hot response from consumers, surpassing cumulative sales of 13.7 million bottles in just about 50 days since its launch.
C1 soju, which won the Grand Prize in the 17-degree to under 21-degree soju category, is also a product that has consistently received love from customers alongside Daesun soju.
C1 caused a stir in the industry by being the first in Korea to add asparagine, which is excellent for hangover relief and liver protection. It also boasts a smooth flavor and clean taste through a patented acoustic vibration aging method.
The 2022 Korea Liquor Awards ceremony and business tasting event, originally scheduled for the 11th, were postponed to April 7 due to the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
