[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] The Korea Federation of SMEs and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) held a 'Structural Innovation Support Project Briefing Session' on the 14th at the Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, Seoul.
This year, the new Structural Innovation Support Project promoted by SBC targets small and medium enterprises facing rapid industrial environmental changes such as digitalization and carbon neutrality. It is a project that provides integrated support for ▲ business transformation for new business entry ▲ digital transformation to enhance digital capabilities ▲ fair labor transition and employment stability for workers in transitioning industries.
The briefing session was part of cooperation measures among related organizations to proactively identify demand related to the Structural Innovation Support Project, which was discussed during the meeting between Kim Gi-moon, Chairman of the Federation of SMEs, and Kim Hak-do, Chairman of SBC, held in January.
The Federation of SMEs organized the briefing session to guide professional consulting and assist SME cooperatives and small and medium enterprises wishing to receive consulting, in order to promote voluntary and proactive structural innovation among SMEs.
The briefing session was conducted by selecting the root industries, which urgently require structural innovation, as the priority target. About ten SME cooperatives and small and medium enterprises from related industries such as forging, heat treatment, surface treatment, and mold attended. Through the Structural Innovation Support Project, companies can receive consulting that provides systematic assistance such as new product development, business area expansion, loan support, and digital transformation.
