Patent Office-KAIST Launches Advanced Intellectual Property Executive Program
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and KAIST have established and are operating an advanced intellectual property (IP) management course. This course is designed to train managerial personnel who will lead innovative growth in companies by strategically utilizing intellectual property.
KIPO announced on the 14th that it will recruit the '1st class of students' for the advanced IP management course targeting CEOs and executives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), lawyers, journalists, and experts from various fields from the 14th of this month to the 15th of next month.
The advanced IP management course consists of ▲Overview of Intellectual Property ▲IP Management in the Era of Metaverse and Artificial Intelligence ▲Corporate Patent Creation and Management Strategies ▲IP Finance and Licensing Strategies ▲Patent Disputes and Trade Secret Protection Strategies ▲Trends in Intellectual Property in the United States and China.
Students will have the opportunity to visit excellent IP management companies, the Patent Court, and other IP-related institutions to directly experience the practical application of intellectual property.
Additionally, through group activities, students will form networks among themselves and have opportunities to make policy recommendations.
Through this, students will acquire comprehensive knowledge of intellectual property and learn how to strategically utilize IP in corporate management to secure leadership in the changing market environment.

View original imageThe total number of recruits is 40, and those who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion signed by the Commissioner of KIPO and the President of KAIST. They will also gain KAIST alumni status and enjoy privileges such as participation in various alumni events.
Jung Yeon-woo, Director of the Industrial Property Policy Bureau at KIPO, stated, “As digital transformation accelerates due to COVID-19, global competition for technological supremacy is intensifying. Intellectual property is becoming a crucial factor determining the survival and growth of companies under these conditions.”
