[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] KT announced on the 14th that it will hold the 'Olleh TV Service Contest' together with the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center to discover outstanding media service companies and expand IPTV-based specialized services.
This contest, co-hosted by KT and the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center, was organized to recruit companies with business items such as applications (apps), videos, and commerce that can be provided through Olleh TV. Startups within 7 years of establishment and small and medium-sized enterprises can participate.
KT plans to give preference to ▲companies currently commercially providing services or business items available through IPTV ▲companies developing and operating based on the Android TV operating system (OS) ▲companies planning and producing specialized content and services in specific fields ▲companies providing business-to-business (B2B) services and solutions available on TV screens.
Selected companies will be awarded a prize of 10 million KRW and a plaque each. In addition, after a separate selection review, they will be recommended for KT's commercialization support program, and marketing promotion will be supported along with the service launch through Olleh TV. Registration as a nurturing company and investment review by the Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center will also be conducted.
The recruitment process will proceed through the first document evaluation, second company interview, and third presentation evaluation, with plans to select about four companies by June.
