"How Much Did They Fire"... Russian Shelling Flames Visible Even from Satellites [Reading Science]
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] As Russia significantly intensifies its offensive against Ukraine, satellite images have confirmed an overwhelming barrage of bombs, with explosions visible in the photos.
On the 13th (local time), Space.com, a space-specialized media outlet, reported that American satellite intelligence company Maxar Technologies recently captured and released satellite images showing the Russian military launching a large-scale offensive on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
These photos were taken by Maxar's WorldView-2 satellite, vividly capturing the flames caused by Russian bombs hitting the Antonov International Airport terminal in Kyiv. Some images even show what appears to be residential areas burning after being shelled. Scenes of terrified Kyiv citizens crowding highways to flee the city outskirts to escape the bombardment, causing traffic congestion, were also captured. The muzzle flashes from Russian artillery firing towards Kyiv were visible in the satellite images as well.
Below are satellite images recently taken by Maxar around the Ukrainian capital area.
