This event is part of the "Light of Peace" campaign, which is being joined by cities around the world to comfort the people of Ukraine suffering from the war and to deliver a message about maintaining world peace.
The stage will be led by Music Director and Principal Conductor Julian Kovachev. The piece performed will be Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. Conductor Julian Kovachev explained the choice of music, saying, "Beethoven's strong will, perseverance, and drive, which mentally overcame the wounds of war and heartbreak, are embedded in the music." In particular, this piece’s clear and dynamic rhythm uplifts the spirit and encourages those who are in despair.
Principal Conductor Julian Kovachev stated, "Music is like a warm hand that offers comfort and hope to people caught in fear and pain. It is also an excellent language through which people worldwide can communicate.
