According to the U.S. Department of Labor on the 10th (local time), the number of new unemployment benefit claims last week (February 27 to March 5) was 227,000, an increase of 11,000 from the previous week. This figure surpasses the expert forecast of 216,000 compiled by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
