Jangheung-gun Starts Woodcraft Artisan Training Program
Operated 4 Courses Including Beginner Lifestyle Woodworking Class for About 50 Participants in the First Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, will start operating the first half of the year woodworking craftsman training program from the 12th.
On the 10th, the county announced that from this year, it will operate weekend classes for wood lathe and everyday woodworking.
The first half woodworking craftsman training program will run from March to the end of June, offering four courses?wood lathe weekend class, beginner everyday woodworking, beginner wood engraving, and wood carving?with about 50 participants.
In the second half of the year, the county plans to operate weekend classes for everyday woodworking, wood burning (pyrography), intermediate everyday woodworking, and intermediate wood engraving to expand the woodworking culture base in the region.
Since 2016, the Jangheung-gun woodworking craftsman training program, operated at the Wood Industry Support Center, has conducted 44 courses over six years, producing over 430 trainees, who have achieved awards in various contests.
In particular, the Jangheung Woodworking Craftsmen Association (President Wi Seongeup) was formed mainly by graduates of the woodworking craftsman program, and through regular member exhibitions and the operation of the Mallet Market, members continue their creative activities in close cooperation with the county.
