Jangseong-gun to Recruit 'Future Agriculture University Freshmen' Until the 25th
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 10th that it is recruiting new students for the 15th Jangseong Future Agriculture University, a program to train professional agricultural managers, until the 25th of this month.
Jangseong Future Agriculture University is a specialized educational institution for farmers that cultivates excellent local farmers who will lead future agriculture. Since its opening in 2008, it has produced 1,595 graduates across 32 courses.
The county was highly evaluated, ranking first in Jeonnam in last year's Rural Development Administration's "National Agricultural University Operation Evaluation" and receiving an excellence award.
This year's recruitment courses are the Subtropical Department and the Young CEO Department, and any farmer residing in Jangseong can participate.
After successfully attracting the National Subtropical Crop Demonstration Center under the Rural Development Administration in 2020, the county opened the Subtropical Department for the first time last year.
While it is common for new courses to be introduced annually in line with agricultural trends, the Subtropical Department has decided to operate for four years to systematically enhance expertise.
The second Subtropical Department, currently recruiting, will teach key technologies necessary for subtropical crop cultivation and cover the latest trends in subtropical crop farming.
An advanced course has also been organized for the first graduates of the Subtropical Department.
The county expects to increase income by further improving the completeness of subtropical crop cultivation technology.
The Young CEO Department, opening for the first time this year, focuses on strengthening the capabilities of young farmers for stable farming settlement.
Additionally, there is a high proportion of participatory education such as field training and thematic discussions.
The education period runs until November, consisting of a total of 20 sessions and 100 hours per department.
Farmers wishing to enroll should submit the application form and required documents to the county Agricultural Technology Center by the 25th.
A county official said, "We will operate the program solidly so that subtropical fruit farmers and young farmers can acquire solid theory and skills."
