[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 10th that it will operate an on-site mobile PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing center for rapid COVID-19 testing of students and staff.
The mobile PCR testing center will be set up and operated on the lawn of the Office of Education, targeting approximately 100,000 students and staff who wish to be tested.
When a confirmed case occurs at a school and the Education Support Office's emergency response team requests testing, the mobile specimen collection team will visit the school to conduct the tests.
Collected specimens will be diagnosed and analyzed at the Office of Education's mobile PCR testing center, and results will be sent via text message by 7 a.m. the following day. Considering efficiency of movement, six teams will be operated: at least one team each at every Education Support Office and on Yeongjongdo Island.
The Office of Education plans to prioritize support for kindergartens and elementary schools with multiple confirmed cases, schools operating dormitories with high risk of group infections, and other schools facing difficulties due to confirmed cases.
