Jeju Air "Increase in Premium Members... Thanks to User Growth and Accrual Rate Benefits"
"Outstanding Membership Members Increase by 37% in 2 Years"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The number of upper-tier members in Jeju Air's membership program, 'Refresh Points,' has significantly increased compared to the pre-COVID-19 period.
According to Jeju Air on the 10th, the number of Gold and VIP members, the upper tiers of Refresh Points, rose by 9,000 (37%) from 24,233 in 2019 to 33,295 last year. The Refresh Points membership is operated in four tiers: VIP, Gold, Silver Plus, and Silver.
A Jeju Air official said, "This is a natural phenomenon due to the increase in users, including holding the No. 1 market share in domestic flights," adding, "The program offers a maximum of 10% accumulation on ticket prices excluding fuel surcharges and airport facility fees, which is a remarkable accumulation rate compared to other membership programs or airline ticket booking sites, and is considered an important factor encouraging repeat flights."
In fact, the proportion of members who flew three or more times was 19.5% of all boarding members in 2019, but increased by 3.1 percentage points to 22.6% in 2021.
Additionally, unlike other airline memberships that require accumulating a certain level of points to use, Jeju Air's Refresh Points allow members to freely use the points earned when purchasing tickets, and if insufficient, they can buy more or gift them, diversifying the ways to utilize the points.
New members receive 1,000 Refresh Points, and upon their first ticket reservation, they are offered a 7% discount on domestic fares and a 5% discount on international fares through the mobile application (app).
