Ulsan City Launches Construction of 'Sangan Happy Housing' for Young Workers and Low-Income Residents
146 Households Scale, Construction Starts March 2023, Completion in 2026
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 'Sangan Happy Housing Construction Project' in Ulsan, aimed at stabilizing housing for young workers and low-income groups, is set to kick off in earnest.
Ulsan City announced on the 10th that it has approved and announced the 'Buk-gu Sangan Happy Housing Public Housing District Plan.'
Construction will begin after the approval of the housing construction project plan by the Ulsan City Architectural Deliberation Committee in June.
The 'Sangan Public Housing District' was selected as a candidate site for Happy Housing by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in March 2017 and was designated as a public housing district in January 2020.
The Sangan Happy Housing will be built with a total project cost of 22.6 billion KRW on a 9,823㎡ site in Sangan-dong, Buk-gu, consisting of three buildings, nine floors, and 146 households. Construction is scheduled to start in March 2023 and be completed by December 2026. The project will be implemented by Ulsan Urban Corporation.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “It is analyzed to be the optimal location for creating a residential base linked to nearby industrial complexes,” adding, “The supply of customized Happy Housing for newlyweds, young workers, and vulnerable groups in the region will enhance urban vitality and contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
