According to the Korea Battery Industry Association on the 10th, CATL notified the association that "due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Korea and the Chinese government's request to refrain from visiting Korea, we have decided to cancel our participation in the exhibition." CATL stated, "We hope to participate in next year's event when the COVID-19 situation in Korea improves," and added, "We want to cooperate with Korea's top three battery companies (LG Energy Solution, SK On, Samsung SDI) through the Korea-China Battery Technology Seminar."
Jung Soon-nam, Vice Chairman of the Battery Industry Association, said, "It is regrettable that the opportunity to see the world's first global Big 4 battery companies in one place has disappeared due to CATL's absence," and added, "We ask for continued interest and support for the 2022 InterBattery event, which will have a record participation of 250 companies."
