Mokpo City Steps Up to Support Wildfire Victims
Autonomous Fundraising, Donation, and Sharing Campaigns for All Employees and Social Organizations

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeonnam Province, announced on the 8th that it will provide support for wildfire victims in Gangwon Province and Gyeongsangbuk Province.
The city plans to conduct voluntary fundraising to help the victims among all employees and social organizations, carry out donation and sharing campaigns, and deliver daily necessities.
Private sectors are also engaging in sharing to help the victims, and on the 8th, a 'Donation Ceremony for Consolation Goods to Wildfire Victims in Gangwon Province' was held with the attendance of Mayor Kim Jongsik of Mokpo and Gong Hul, CEO of Shinsegae F&B.
This donation was made based on CEO Gong Hul's intention to practice sharing for the victims affected by the wildfire.
The kimchi donated to Mokpo City consists of 500 boxes of 10kg napa cabbage kimchi (worth about 20 million KRW), which will be delivered to the wildfire evacuation shelters in Samcheok City, Gangwon Province, and Uljin County, Gyeongbuk Province.
CEO Gong Hul said, "I offer my condolences to the victims who lost their homes due to the wildfire during these difficult times of COVID-19. I hope the wildfire will be extinguished soon and that the victims can overcome their pain and stand up again."
