Gyeongnam Hapcheon-gun Selected as an 'Excellent Institution' in Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation for Two Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, was selected as an excellent institution for the second consecutive year in this year's (2021 performance) comprehensive local tax administration evaluation conducted by Gyeongsangnam-do targeting 18 cities and counties, securing a commendation and project funds of 100 million won.
The comprehensive local tax administration evaluation is conducted annually to promote the development of local tax administration by providing incentives to excellent cities and counties, evaluating the overall local tax administration of cities and counties within the province.
This evaluation covered all aspects of local tax work, including local tax imposition and collection, arrears management, tax audits, local tax reviews, non-tax revenue, local income tax, and general tax administration operations.
Last year, the county actively introduced the 'Electronic Deposit Seizure System' to realize tax equity. Considering that elderly farmers often do not actively exercise their rights such as local tax reductions or refunds, special policies such as refunding lost taxes to farmers were also implemented.
