Jinju City Establishes Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation System in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City in Gyeongnam is actively developing a regional university-industry-research cooperation system in response to the 4th Industrial Revolution era. It is also actively supporting the 100-year future of Jinju through talent cultivation tailored to corporate demand and research and development.
The cooperation areas include future industry innovation-type talent cultivation, anti-aging bioindustry, core aviation technology development, and professional manpower training.
Since 2017 until 2028, Jinju City has supported 14 public projects with over 5.76 billion KRW.
This year, the focus was on innovating the software-centered education system and reflecting corporate demand. In line with corporate demand for strengthening on-site education and new technology personnel such as AI, the city confirmed support funds for seven public projects, including the ‘Software-Centered University Support Project’ for cultivating specialized software convergence talents and the ‘Maker Space Construction Industry’ for prototype production and mass production.
Accordingly, if these projects are finally selected, Jinju City will provide a total of 2.4 billion KRW in support.
Jinju City plans to actively expand investment in future growth industries such as the aerospace industry and new industries.
