According to the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority on the 8th, the original plan was to carry out the infrastructure construction of District 11-1 in three phases (four zones), but to prepare for increasing land demand and to revitalize the industrial complex, the construction was shortened to two phases, and Zones 3 and 4 were started simultaneously.
Accordingly, the first phase (Zones 1-1 and 1-2) infrastructure construction, which began in August last year, will be completed by 2024, and the second phase construction, which started this time, is planned to be completed by 2025.
The second phase of Songdo District 11-1 includes special planning zones such as 'Mini Venice' (0.35㎢) and 'Mini Malibu' (0.47㎢) to create waterways that are part of the Songdo Waterfront as specialized spaces.
The entire infrastructure construction of District 11-1, with a construction cost of 800 billion KRW, includes the installation of 21.8 km of roads, 48.6 km of water pipelines, 50 km of stormwater pipes, 25.8 km of sewage pipes, and 5 km of retention basins.
District 11, where the final landfill of Songdo International City is underway, has an artificially created landfill area of 6.92㎢, and when combined with the surrounding wetlands and waterways, the total area is 12.45㎢.
