"Hyundai Ends Manual Transmission for Base Trim of Avante Priced Around 15 Million Won"
Hyundai Motor Company Launches 2022 Avante Model
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Motor Company launched the facelifted model of the mid-size sedan Avante on the 8th. The manual transmission model, which was available in the lowest trim, has been removed, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is now standard. Compared to the previous model, prices have increased by about 600,000 KRW to nearly 1,500,000 KRW depending on the trim.
The 2022 Avante prices for the gasoline 1.6 model range from 18,660,000 KRW to 25,150,000 KRW (based on a 3.5% individual consumption tax) depending on the trim. Compared to the previous model (15,700,000 KRW to 24,530,000 KRW), prices for the lower trims have risen significantly. This is because many customers who previously chose the manual transmission now opt for the CVT as an option, so Hyundai made the CVT standard, which increased the price. Previously, the CVT and integrated driving mode option cost 1,500,000 KRW. Considering this, the lowest Smart trim is about 1,460,000 KRW more expensive.
Additionally, an 8-inch display audio system is now standard, and the SmartSense III package, which includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, and safe exit warning, has been added along with 17-inch wheels as an option. The Modern trim now comes standard with navigation and ventilated seats. The highest trim, Inspiration, includes laminated soundproof glass as standard, along with a power-adjustable passenger seat and vibration warning steering wheel. LED interior lamps are standard, and beige has been added as an interior color option. The Modern trim price increased by about 950,000 KRW, and the Inspiration trim by about 620,000 KRW.
The 1.6 LPi model is priced between 20,050,000 KRW and 26,410,000 KRW, up to about 4,000,000 KRW compared to the previous model. The hybrid model ranges from 23,460,000 KRW to 28,920,000 KRW (after tax benefits), with a maximum increase of about 1,500,000 KRW. The high-performance N Line (gasoline 1.6 turbo) is priced between 23,180,000 KRW and 28,060,000 KRW, up about 1,400,000 KRW. A Hyundai Motor official stated, "We have enhanced the product to prioritize customer safety and convenience."
