Supply of DC 1.5kV Overhead Cables and Related Equipment
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] LS Cable announced on the 8th that it will supply power cables to the 63MW-class floating solar power plant in Goheungman, Jeollanam-do.
The supplied products include DC 1.5kV floating cables, 22.9kV cables, and 154kV cables connecting substations, which are necessary for the construction of the power generation complex. The floating cables require customized development as they are connected by floating buoys on the water.
LS Cable utilized its know-how in submarine cable manufacturing to develop cables for floating solar power, ensuring product features suitable for the aquatic environment such as water tightness, flame retardancy, salt resistance, and flexibility. Additionally, the cables are environmentally friendly, releasing no water pollutants.

LS Cable is expanding its market by supplying solar cables to more than 50 locations, including Solarsido in Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, the largest solar power complex in Korea. A company official stated, “We are strengthening our product portfolio in renewable energy sectors such as solar and wind power.”
