Gyeongbuk Pohang City Greatly Expands Support for Cataract Surgery Costs
If You Are an Elderly Eligible for Basic Pension, You Can Apply
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk Province, signed an agreement with Dongpohang, Pohang Ilwol, and Pohang Yeongpo International Rotary Clubs (District 3630) and has significantly relaxed the eligibility criteria for the low-income senior cataract surgery support project since last month.
Pohang City changed the eligibility criteria from being limited to basic pension recipients with an income recognition amount of 0 KRW or less, born before December 31, 1949, to allowing any senior eligible for the basic pension to apply.
Applications can be made by visiting the administrative welfare center in the applicant's resident district with an ID card by the end of March. The program may close early if the budget is exhausted.
This project will support surgery costs for 480 eyes with a total sponsorship fund of 120 million KRW.
