On the 7th at around 3 p.m., Captain Lee shared an article on the YouTube channel 'ROKSEAL' community stating that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs planned to invalidate his passport, saying, "Ministry of Foreign Affairs, my team has safely arrived in Ukraine. Instead of wasting time invalidating our passports, consider how you can support us. We will fight on the front lines."
He added, "I have continuously requested night vision goggles but have not received export approval," and explained, "Therefore, I am trying to get night vision goggles supported by the U.S. government."
Captain Lee also announced his arrival through Instagram on the same day. He said, "I have arrived in Ukraine. Thank you for helping us during the Korean War. Now it is our turn to help you."
Earlier, Captain Lee announced his departure to assist Ukraine via Instagram the day before. He said, "When the President of Ukraine called for help from around the world, ROKSEAL immediately prepared for the volunteer corps mission," adding, "We cannot just stand by in this situation without helping Ukraine with the skills, knowledge, and expertise we possess."
In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that unauthorized entry into Ukraine could result in criminal penalties under the Passport Act and administrative sanctions on passports. The Ministry also urged, "Citizens should strictly recognize that Ukraine is currently in a state of war and refrain from entering Ukraine, a travel-restricted country, without permission."
