[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Lee Don-seung, Deputy Head of the Organizational Headquarters of the Democratic Party’s Lee Jae-myung Presidential Campaign, expressed gratitude for the high early voting rate in Jeonbuk, including Wanju County, and urged voters to achieve the ‘8090’ formula for Lee Jae-myung’s victory through the main vote on March 9.

Deputy Head Lee said on the 6th, “According to the early voting results conducted from the 4th to the 5th, Jeonbuk’s early voting rate was 48.63%, and Wanju County’s early voting rate was 50.68%,” adding, “This reflects the voters’ strong desire for the launch of the 4th Democratic government through the victory of Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung.”

According to the National Election Commission, the early voting rate for the 20th presidential election was 36.93%, with Jeonbuk recording the second highest rate at 48.63%, following Jeonnam.

This rate far exceeds the 31.64% of the 19th presidential election in 2017, the 21.81% of the 7th local elections in 2018, and the 34.75% of the 21st general election in 2020.

In particular, Deputy Head Lee expressed gratitude for the fact that more than half of the voters in Wanju County participated in early voting.

He stated, “Wanju County’s early voting rate remained in the 30% range, with 32.68% in the 19th presidential election, 30.29% in the 7th local elections, and 37.06% in the 21st general election,” and predicted, “The early voting rate exceeding 50% in Wanju County this presidential election will greatly contribute to the election victory.”

He continued, “For the victory of Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, achieving ‘8090 (80% turnout, 90% vote share)’ in Jeonbuk, including Wanju County, is absolutely necessary,” and appealed, “Voters who were unable to participate in early voting must exercise their voting rights in the main vote on the 9th to help launch the 4th Democratic government, continuing the legacy of the Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Moon Jae-in administrations.”
