"Shall We Head to the Department Store for Spring?" Department Stores Present Various Spring Events
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] As spring approaches, the department store industry is launching various spring events to capture customers' hearts.
According to the industry on the 5th, Lotte Department Store will hold exhibitions at five Lotte Galleries in connection with the social contribution campaign ‘Rejoice’ to celebrate International Women's Day on the 8th.
This exhibition, under the slogan ‘Art and Women, Their Shining Names,’ will be held at five Lotte Galleries located in the main store, Jamsil branch, Dongtan branch, Incheon Terminal branch, and Gwangju branch. Since ‘Rejoice’ is the theme, about 40 female artists will participate, showcasing diverse and original works. Unlike general external exhibition halls, it is free to use, allowing anyone, even those not deeply familiar with art, to easily visit and enjoy, according to the Lotte Gallery side.
The detailed themes vary by store. Considering that the Dongtan branch gallery has a high sales composition ratio of customers in their 20s and 30s, the exhibition targets the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). For the main store, which has a diverse customer base, three exhibitions will be held through the art wall, emphasizing ‘premium.’
Shinsegae Department Store is holding a themed event called ‘Spring Vibes,’ featuring spring flower videos and untact concerts. At the main store and Centum City branch, large, colorful flower sculptures are installed in the center of the first floor to welcome customers. The flowers symbolizing spring are digitized and installed throughout the stores, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the feeling of visiting a media art gallery. On screens installed throughout the stores, visitors can watch videos created in collaboration between American 3D artist Berenice Gorman and Shinsegae.
