At this occasion, Leader Lee stated, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration will consistently support the Jeju 4·3 compensation issues and additional fact-finding investigations," and also emphasized regarding the Second Airport issue, "We will ensure it proceeds without any setbacks."
He continued, "Whenever candidate Yoon and the party visit the 4·3 Peace Park, they always express a consistent stance," adding, "The People Power Party and the forthcoming Yoon Seok-yeol government will maintain a consistent position in supporting compensation issues under the special law and additional fact-finding investigations."
When asked by reporters about the core policy candidate Yoon plans to promote most actively in Jeju after being elected president, he explained, "The Second Airport will be pushed forward without any setbacks."
He also said, "With Jeju's tourism demand sharply declining, candidate Yoon plans various supports to revitalize Jeju tourism in the post-COVID-19 situation," adding, "Once elected, he will actively request the lifting of quarantine measures, and since Jeju's economy heavily depends on the service industry, expectations are high."
Meanwhile, Leader Lee completed early voting at the Yeongbong-dong early voting station of Chonnam National University in Gwangju on the morning of the same day and then moved to Jeju. In the afternoon, he plans to campaign near L Mart at Nohyeong Five-way Intersection in Jeju City at 3 p.m., following a campaign battle with Song Young-gil, chairman of the Democratic Party election committee, at Seogwipo Oil Market with a one-hour time difference.
