Metaverse Platform Zepeto Reaches 300 Million Global Users
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Metaverse platform Zepeto announced on the 4th that it has reached 300 million global cumulative users just two years after its launch.
Launched in August 2018, Zepeto is available in over 200 countries worldwide, including South Korea, China, Japan, and the United States. Following the milestone of 200 million users in February 2020, it has achieved ▲300 million global cumulative users ▲20 million global MAU (monthly active users) ▲2.3 billion cumulative item sales in about two years.
As Asia's number one metaverse platform, Zepeto has established itself as a space where users can enjoy a wider variety of global intellectual properties (IP) through partnerships with fashion and beauty companies such as Christian Dior, Gucci, Nike, and Ralph Lauren, as well as entertainment companies like HYBE, JYP, and YG. Additionally, Zepeto has rapidly grown centered on the global Gen Z, with approximately 95% of its users being overseas.
Launched in April 2020, the content creation platform 'Zepeto Studio' is highly popular among global Gen Z users who enjoy communication, collaboration, and creativity. 'Zepeto Studio,' which allows users to create avatar outfits and 3D worlds, has about 2 million creators registered. Creators have submitted approximately 4.1 million items, and sales of creator-made items total 68 million.
