Lee Byung-ho, Former aT President, Appointed as New President of Korea Rural Community Corporation
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Son Seonhee] Korea Rural Community Corporation announced on the 3rd that Lee Byung-ho, former president of Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT), has been appointed as the 11th president.
The new president, Lee, is from Nonsan, Chungnam. He graduated from Gyeonggi High School and Seoul National University College of Agriculture, and completed a master's degree in agricultural economics at the same university. He served as a policy advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, executive director of the (Corporation) Unification Agro-Fisheries Business Group, and was president of aT from 2018 to 2021.
The Rural Community Corporation stated, "President Lee is a leading agricultural strategist who combines theory and practice, having managed a pre-cooling specialized farming cooperative in response to changes in the agro-food distribution environment in the late 1990s, and led a 119 trillion won agricultural and rural investment plan following market opening during his time as an advisor at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs." They added, "He is the ideal candidate skilled in innovative organizational management with conflict and interest mediation abilities, having experience in inter-Korean agricultural cooperation, establishment of eco-friendly school meal systems, modernization projects of Garak Market, and achieving 10 billion dollars in agro-food exports."

President Lee will assume office on the 4th. His term is three years, until March 2025.
