Gwangju Buk-gu's Customized Independence Support for 'Out-of-School Youth'
Differentiated Support from 50,000 to 500,000 Won Including Participation and Achievement Allowances, Contest Also Operated
Last Year, 150 Returned to Studies and 95 Entered Society as Achievements
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City, has rolled up its sleeves to help out-of-school youth reintegrate into society in a healthy way.
According to Buk-gu on the 3rd, a 'Customized Support Plan for Out-of-School Youth' has been established and is being implemented to help youth aged 9 to 24 who have dropped out of school explore their career paths and aptitudes and achieve stable independence.
This project, carried out in collaboration with the 'Buk-gu Out-of-School Youth Support Center,' includes ▲Education Participation Allowance ▲Achievement Reward System ▲Youth Contests.
Through the Education Participation Allowance, youth who complete the certified program at the Out-of-School Youth Support Center even once receive 50,000 won.
The Achievement Reward provides differential support ranging from 100,000 won to 500,000 won depending on achievements such as passing the qualification exam, taking online lectures, participating in club activities, job experiences, and completing self-development programs for youth who have created personal portfolios.
Additionally, to foster various talents, art and craft contests are held twice a year.
Director Moon said, "We will continue to promote the out-of-school youth independence support project as a 'Buk-gu specialized project' to enhance the independence capabilities of out-of-school youth and help them grow into healthy members of society."
Meanwhile, Buk-gu has been continuously operating the out-of-school youth independence support project since 2020, and last year, 150 youths returned to their studies, and 95 entered society.
