Yoon Seok-yeol: "Factional Politics Rooted in Student Activist Lineage Cannot Fool the Eyes of Corrupt Forces"
Yoon: "People Who Would Win Gold Medals if There Were a Lie Olympics"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee, Sejong=Reporter Hyunji Kwon] Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, stated on the 3rd, "Isn't it natural for those who engage in factional politics by tracing the genealogy of the activist groups, collude with businessmen to divide interests, and share high-ranking public offices to be full and successful and to look down on the people?"
On the same day, during an on-site campaign in front of Jochiwon Station in Sejong City, Chungnam Province, Candidate Yoon said, "Those who engage in corruption may be personally competent, but there is no way they are competent at the national level."
Candidate Yoon pointed out, "Originally, power is finite. It is about being humble and honest to the people, being humbly judged when wrong, and being judged if you lack the ability to properly support the people. But those who engage in factional politics among activist groups have ruined the government and messed up state affairs over the past five years." He continued, "These people keep advancing their careers and dividing interests, and now they are flocking to Lee Jae-myung's side, deceiving the people as if this is a regime change and trying to extend their own rule. A characteristic of these people is lying. They would win gold medals if there were an Olympics for lying."
In contrast, Candidate Yoon himself said, "I have fought against corruption that sucks the people's blood for 26 years," adding, "Corrupt forces cannot fool my eyes. I can tell at a glance," which drew cheers from the crowd.
He did not hesitate to criticize the Democratic Party and Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. Candidate Yoon said, "As their defeat becomes apparent, now they say that the prime minister appointed by the president must be recommended by the National Assembly, which holds 180 seats, and the National Assembly must consent to the appointment," and questioned, "Did they ever have the opposition recommend the prime minister during their Democratic Party administration?"
He also said, "Since last September, when the prosecution covered up the Daejang-dong incident and did not investigate, we called for a special prosecutor. The Democratic Party with 180 seats kept covering it up," adding, "Now that the regime is about to change, are they saying they want to control the special prosecutor through their parliamentary power? Whether it's a special prosecutor or anything else, as long as the truth is properly revealed, we are fully in favor."
