Korea Center Achieves Record High with 339.5 Billion KRW in Sales and 17.4 Billion KRW Operating Profit
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Korea Center announced on the 3rd that its consolidated sales last year reached 339.45 billion KRW, and operating profit was 17.41 billion KRW, marking the highest performance since its establishment.
Sales and operating profit increased by 12% and 1.4%, respectively, while net profit for the period decreased by 30.0% to 11.17 billion KRW compared to the previous year. The decline in net profit was due to an increase in non-operating expenses such as derivative valuation losses, which do not affect cash flow. EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) was 31.11 billion KRW, up 1.2% from the previous year.
By business division, the MakeShop platform, responsible for domestic business, recorded 95.22 billion KRW, a 10% increase from the previous year. The total transaction amount of shopping malls and market-linked transactions on the MakeShop platform reached 8.8355 trillion KRW. Sales from the MakeShop platform’s advertising business increased by 14% year-on-year. Podbbang, an audio (podcast) broadcasting service, saw a 71.1% increase in sales compared to the previous year, driven by the popularity of paid broadcasts centered on audio magazines.
The Moltail platform, responsible for overseas business, recorded sales of 198.3 billion KRW, a 9.1% growth compared to the previous year. Fulfillment and overseas direct purchase transactions centered on 11 logistics centers in 8 countries grew by 6.7% year-on-year, reaching approximately 2.54 million cases.
The Enuri platform, responsible for big data and price comparison business, recorded sales of 36.51 billion KRW, a 27.1% increase from the previous year. Big data sales accounted for 42% of Enuri platform’s total sales.
