Hyundai Motor Sells 304,613 Units in February... 1.4% Increase YoY
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 2nd that it sold a total of 304,613 units worldwide last month, an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period last year. This is the first time in eight months since June last year that monthly sales have increased compared to the same period last year.
In the domestic market, 53,010 units were sold, a 1.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
For sedans, a total of 12,389 units were sold, including 4,490 units of Grandeur, 4,176 units of Sonata, and 3,697 units of Avante. Recreational Vehicles (RVs) sold a total of 17,751 units, including 3,900 units of Palisade, 1,680 units of Santa Fe, 2,684 units of Tucson, 3,995 units of Ioniq 5, and 3,304 units of Casper.
In commercial vehicles, Porter recorded 7,995 units sold, and Staria recorded 2,057 units. Medium and large buses and trucks sold 1,802 units.
Premium brand Genesis sold a total of 11,016 units, including 4,655 units of G80, 349 units of GV60, 2,592 units of GV70, and 1,782 units of GV80.
Overseas sales last month were 251,603 units, an increase of 1.3%.
Hyundai Motor cited the competitive launches of Ioniq 5, Casper, Staria, and GV60, along with the gradual easing of semiconductor parts supply issues and flexible allocation of semiconductors, as the reasons behind the sales increase.

A Hyundai Motor official said, “Despite ongoing management uncertainties such as semiconductor parts issues, we will minimize the impact of supply delays through adjustments in vehicle production schedules,” adding, “We will expand market share and strengthen profitability by launching competitive new models and implementing solid sales strategies.”
