Hyundai Motor Company and Kia to Give 4 Million KRW Incentive to All Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Hyundai Motor Company and Kia announced on the 2nd that they will provide a bonus of 4 million KRW to all employees. This measure comes as a result of achievements in domestic and international markets despite the challenging business environment both inside and outside the company.
Jang Jae-hoon, President of Hyundai Motor, said in an email sent to all employees on the same day, "Amid difficult domestic and international circumstances including COVID-19, there have been numerous accomplishments recognizing the competitiveness, safety, and quality of our products worldwide," adding, "We deeply appreciate the hard work of our employees and wish to share these fruits along with the bonus."
Song Ho-sung, President of Kia, also stated, "The many achievements we have made are the result of your relentless efforts and struggles during crises after we renewed our brand mission and vision along with the change of our company name and logo last year," and expressed gratitude for the employees' continuous efforts toward quality and safety.
Last month, Hyundai Motor and Kia ranked first among 15 global automotive groups in the JD Power Initial Quality Study conducted in the United States. In a collision evaluation by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 21 vehicle models were selected as safe cars. The Kia EV6 was the first Korean car to be named European Car of the Year, and the Ioniq 5 was also selected as Car of the Year in Germany.

This bonus will be paid equally to all employees regardless of rank or job position. It is separate from the previously paid differentiated performance bonuses.
