Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center to Begin 'Pilot Operation' Ahead of April Opening
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center will begin a one-month pilot operation from the 2nd to the 31st of this month ahead of its official opening next month.
Located in Naesammi-dong, Osan City, the Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center is the first safety experience facility in Gyeonggi-do and the largest nationwide, with a site area of 16,745㎡, a total floor area of 7,094㎡, nine experience zones, and 52 experience programs.
The total project cost amounted to 30.77 billion KRW, including 10.77 billion KRW from the provincial government, 10 billion KRW from the national government, and 10 billion KRW from the city government.
The experience center offers programs divided into a children's safety experience zone and a complex safety experience zone where visitors can experience daily and traffic safety, social and natural disasters, and outdoor safety; it also includes an emergency first aid specialized experience zone, a 4D theater, a virtual reality (VR) experience zone, and a special exhibition hall.

Moon Tae-woong, director of the Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center, stated, "During the pilot operation period, we plan to conduct visitor satisfaction surveys and actively reflect the feedback in our operations," adding, "We will do our best to establish the center as a leading safety experience facility promoting safety culture in Gyeonggi-do."
