[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Kim Jong-in, former head of the People Power Party's overall election committee, targeted Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, saying, "The idea that you can just borrow someone else's brain is uncomfortable."
In an interview with OhmyNews released on YouTube on the afternoon of the 28th, former Chairman Kim said, "If you want to borrow a brain, there must be a brain capable of being borrowed," adding, "The country cannot function properly just because anyone uses it. (The presidential candidate) must recognize their responsibility to the people themselves."
He further elaborated on a chapter titled "The President's Ignorance Becomes a Crime" from his new book, Why Presidents Fail, saying, "If I do not have the ability to properly lead the people, I should not even think about becoming president," and "If someone without confidence leads the country, the country cannot develop and ultimately the people will be unhappy." This remark appears to criticize candidate Yoon, who previously expressed his intention to enhance government expertise by appointing experts.
Regarding Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, and his proposal for a unified government, former Chairman Kim said, "I think it is surprising that the ruling party candidate would accept such an idea," and explained, "I said that a unified government is necessary because if we do not handle the various problems facing our country through consensus to achieve innovation, there is no future. (Candidate Lee) said he would do so."
He added, "I don't know to what extent Candidate Lee has accepted this, but he continues to talk in that direction," and "Yesterday, he showed acceptance at a party meeting as a form of support, so I think 'for now, it might go in that direction.'"

Former Chairman Kim also revealed that he met with Ahn Cheol-soo, the People's Party presidential candidate, last month. He said, "It is true that on January 20th, (Candidate Ahn) came to my office and we met," adding, "Basically, I say the same things to anyone who is going to be president. I emphasized democratic unified government and cooperation to Candidate Yoon as well. Is there any special reason to say something different to Candidate Ahn? A firm belief in the country's future is necessary."
