Daejeon City Offers Free Treatment for Trees in Multi-Use Living Areas Such as Schools and Parks
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 28th that it will implement a public sector tree care consulting project this year.
The project is a type of public service in which an arborist diagnoses trees and prescribes treatment, aimed at timely control of tree pests and diseases and preventing pesticide misuse.
The participants are green spaces in multi-use living areas frequently visited by citizens, such as school forests, parks, urban forests, and social, welfare, and youth facilities within the city. However, privately owned green spaces and trees, as well as private areas like apartment complexes, are excluded from the project.
The city plans to carry out tree care for 50 multi-use living area green spaces within the jurisdiction through this consulting project.
Previously, the city started this project in 2019 and has issued a total of 180 prescriptions to date. The applicant institutions have implemented pest and disease control and improved the growing environment of poorly growing trees according to these prescriptions.
