Gyeonggi-do Supports 'Youth Startups Based on Convergence Technology'
For prospective university (graduate) student entrepreneurs and early-stage entrepreneurs within 3 years in the province
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province and the Next-Generation Convergence Technology Institute are promoting a startup support project for university students in convergence technology, supporting 25 university startup teams this year.
According to the province on the 28th, the project assists in fields such as intelligent healthcare, future urban design, next-generation transportation systems, and other technology-based areas.
They are recruiting and supporting a total of 25 teams, including 20 new teams and 5 follow-up support teams, consisting of prospective entrepreneurs and early-stage startups within three years who are university (graduate) students located in or residing in the province.
Selected startup teams will receive up to 50 million KRW in commercialization funds that can be used for prototype production costs, experiment expenses, intellectual property application and registration fees, marketing activities, and more.
Additionally, benefits such as eligibility to move into the 'Gyeonggi Province University Student Startup Support Center,' a shared startup space within the institute, and individual office spaces will be provided.
Accelerating support includes 'Convergence Technology Mentoring' linked with major research centers of the institute and professors from Seoul National University, a successful startup tour and networking program called 'Startup Meetup,' and a 'Convergence Technology Startup Demo Day' inviting famous domestic VCs and ACs.

Kim Pyeong-won, head of the Startup Support Division, said, "As the number of young people choosing entrepreneurship gradually increases, we will support their growth into university tech startups by establishing a stable early commercialization foundation and operating detailed nurturing programs."
